Summary

Salinus’ Prison, also known as the Salt Dragon Prison, is an ancient underground structure beneath the Seaward quarry. It contains Salinus, the Earth-and-Water-associated salt dragon and one of the eight beings imprisoned to power the Barrier, inside a smaller barrier marked by salt-covered runes and damaged or removed copper pylons. The failing prison has allowed Salinus to sweat salt into the earth for decades, poisoning the land around Seaward. Its access was contested by the Black Scales, the Underbelly, and local factions trying to keep the Justicar away while the dragon was freed.

Known Details

  • The structure may be about 1,000 years old.
  • It was entered behind missing wooden panels and included corridors leading to a huge metal dragon-head ring door.
  • Salinus, a massive salt dragon inside a smaller barrier, had sweated salt into the earth for twenty years.
  • User clarification says this prison was leaking, and that the leak in Salinus’s prison caused the poisoned land around Seaward.
  • Day 51 identifies Salinus's prison as this prison near Seaward.
  • Copper pylons had been removed, and runes were barely visible under salt.
  • People at the prison were trying to free the salt dragon, and the locals wanted the Justicar kept out. The old gnome tour guide and his black dragonborn boss were Black Scales. The gnome asked whether the party were Underbelly because the Underbelly had a truce with the Black Scales granting access to Salinus’ prison.
