resistance leader

Copper

Summary

Copper, also known as Scar Face or Scarface, is the scarred spokeswoman for a hidden dwarven resistance settlement in the mountains near Hammerguard. When asked her name, she paused and said, “Just, just call me Copper”; the surrounding conversation repeatedly says that she has no name. Copper and Scar Face may therefore be identifiers or cover names rather than her true personal name.

Known Details

  • Copper met the party at the heated entrance to the settlement after hill watchers reported their approach.
  • She wore a thick coat and metal face mask; deliberate fine knife scars marked her face except around one eye.
  • She said dwarves who escaped Envy’s charm through willpower or chance formed small mountain enclaves focused on survival and limiting Envy’s expansion.
  • Copper described Envy’s influence, enforcers, dragon intelligence, the broken Hammerguard-Grimcrag bridge, and Envy’s vulnerability to affronts against her worship and image.
  • In the transcripts, Copper hesitated when asked her name and answered, “Just, just call me Copper.” Other dialogue in the same sequence says she has no name, making the distinction between Copper and her true identity significant.
  • The party also used Scar Face / Scarface to identify her, referring to her distinctive facial scarring.
  • She arranged the party’s secure rooms, food, and lizard care, then brought in Groushin to answer questions about the elven husks.
