Summary

The Mother, Betrayer was a Dunnen Mother who betrayed her people, a Carnamancy-linked antagonist, and Ennui’s apprentice. She worked with Garadule, transformed the life prison into flesh, siphoned Limusvita, repurposed Ennui’s clone, and died during the Baytail Accord crisis. Her children, the Everchard Twins, later continued parts of her memory-tampering work. She is distinct from Mother Egraine Brook, the Dunnensend Mother the party met, but both figures belong to the broader Dunnen Mother tradition.

Known Details

• The life prison had become flesh, eyes, veins, and other organic features, possibly through high-level Carnamancy by The Mother, Betrayer.
• The Mother, Betrayer tried to absorb Limusvita but could not contain him; he was holding on to keep the Barrier up while she siphoned energy through a copper pipe.
• At Baytail Accord, a horrible boob-covered form appeared and was apparently The Mother, Betrayer.
• After The Mother, Betrayer died, Geldrin found a spellbook on her with the same cipher and spells as Ennui’s.
• The Mother, Betrayer had somehow repurposed Ennui’s clone, which seemed impossible under the party’s understanding of clone magic.
• Earlier records refer to her as Ennui’s apprentice; Day 43 describes Ennui’s apprentice as a dark-skinned elf whom Joy and Mr Browning disliked.
• Day 23 suggested Ennui’s apprentice may have caused the end of Garadule’s sanity.
• Day 27 Dunnensend context establishes that The Mother, Betrayer was a Dunnen Mother who betrayed her people.
