Papa Marmaru
Summary
Papa Marmaru is one of the eight beings imprisoned to power the Barrier, connected to Papa Marmaru’s Dome near Magstein and Papa Marmaru’s Prison. A glowing box given to Invar contained a black crab with three snake-headed eyes, which identified itself as only part of Papa Marmaru, spoke in many languages, and asked the party to free the rest of him and Anorazorak. Papa Marmaru chose his imprisonment to look after the dwarves and warned Invar not to trust Merikok, but the location and condition of his remaining parts are unknown.

- The eight Barrier prisoners were Valentinhide, Anorazorak, Garadule, Limusvita, Salinus, Leedus, Merikok, and Papa Marmaru.
- Earlier notes refer to Papa’s Dome and Papa I Meurina in related Papa Marmaru prison lore.
- Earlier prison lore described Papa I Meurina as a crab with three snake heads and magma.
- Day 51 and later Papa Marmaru material identify Papa Marmaru’s prison as Papa Marmaru’s Prison, also known as the lava orb prison.
- On
day-43, a dwarf blacksmith gave Invar a glowing warm box containing a small black crab where lava seemed to go through rocks, with three snake heads as eyes. - The crab spoke to Invar in many languages, said it had been boxed for one main moon / thirty darks, and identified itself as only part of Papa Marmaru.
- The crab knew where the rest of itself was and wanted the party to free the rest of Papa Marmaru and Anorazorak.
- The orb was blessed by Anadreste and had been extracted from a lake by friends; dwarves had seen the errors of their ways and now wanted to release him.
- The Benu book’s page was blank when asked for the location of Papa Marmaru.
- Papa Marmaru had chosen to be there, looked after the dwarves, and warned Invar not to trust Merikok.
