Summary

Geldrin, full name Geldrin Rubica and also called Geldrin the Mighty, is a rock gnome wizard of the School of Evocation, played by Shaun and one of the original party members. First noted in Everchard with wild brown hair and glasses with no glass, he was the only member of the party who remembered Gelissa after the town’s memory tampering. Geldrin is the party’s foremost scholar of spellbooks, runes, machinery, and arcane bargains, and his curiosity has drawn him into the Founder legacy, Bridged’s power, the elemental prisons, and a dangerous bargain with Azar Nuri. He now possesses Founder armour that recognized him as an elite-class Founder and took the name Alfred.

Character Details

  • Player: Shaun.
  • Ancestry/species: rock gnome; later Founder-linked.
  • Class/role: wizard, School of Evocation.
  • Description: a brilliant gnome scholar and spellcaster whose curiosity frequently leads the party toward discovery, and occasionally trouble. Though physically the smallest member of the group, his intellect and magical knowledge make him invaluable. Geldrin has wild brown hair, glasses with no glass, and wears white underpants covered in love hearts.

Character Voice

Geldrin’s table personality is brilliant, curious, magical, and occasionally exasperating to the people around him. He is the party member most often associated with translation, spellbooks, runes, complex machinery, arcane bargains, and dangerous knowledge. His curiosity gives the party access to truths and tools nobody else could reach, but it also means the group sometimes has to manage the consequences of what Geldrin has learned, promised, activated, or become interested in. The result is a character who is indispensable and, in the party’s own affectionate register, sometimes insufferable.

  • Geldrin inserted the recovered core into the Founder armour, which recognized his voice pattern as a Founder and later as an elite-class Founder, took the name Alfred, and became usable powered armour with 10 non-recharging charges.
