Summary

Coalmount Falls is a brown-green mining town of steam-powered mine carts whose waterfall periodically runs black. The black water led the party to an underwater chamber and unknown !Asmoorade!-named locations, then onward to a mountain facility connected to the Domain of Anthrosite, Nelkish, Blackhold, Ennui, purple-cored automatons, and a Garadule recall protocol. The mountain contains an elemental prisoner, but that prisoner is separate from the Barrier prison network; its purpose remains unknown.

Known Details

  • Coalmount Falls is a brown-green mining town with steam-powered mine carts; the waterfall turns black.
  • Town services and nearby references included the Smokesblood Stout Brewery/Inn, Fellspour & Prick Inn, the wealthy Zigglecog mine-cart family, and a monastery where the Zigglecog daughter had become a monk.
  • Hanner said the black water had occurred for about one thousand years, once monthly but now twice daily, following a pattern of elemental schools of magic.
  • Morgana sensed a large black six-armed creature shackled under the water, with chains leading into alien material and an obsidian archway.
  • User clarification says the elemental prisoner within the mountain is not related to the Barrier, and its purpose is still unknown.
  • !Asmoorade! Prison and !Asmoorade! are unknown locations or location names requiring further clarification.
  • Dulpeake, also known as the Domain of Anthrosite, is a separate town or location associated with the Coalmount Falls mountain route; the Blackhold doorway connects to the door at the top of this mountain.
  • On Day 56, Infestus’s coal route brought the party to Dulpeake: a plateau with dwarven construction, purple sky, a ghost-town feeling, a small dragonborn population, and a large runed stone doorway in a market square.
  • The underwater chamber had a twenty-foot statue with five runes in a pentagram and the name !Asmoorade!.
  • A barrier trapped Morgana until she found a freshly cut stone corridor, ticking-rune door, giant black four-armed geyser figure, and revival chamber.
  • Nelkish announced the Domain of Anthrosite, was Infestus’s son, guarded the doorway to Blackhold, recognized Eliana as pure blood, and said Geldrin’s wizard robes were part of an agreement. The doorway connects to the door at the top of the mountain at Dulpeake, near Coalmount Falls.
  • Ennui in a tube of viscous fluid was released; an automaton introduced himself as Garadule, activated recall protocol, and removed the automatons.
