Ashkelon

Summary

Ashkelon is a former Goliath capital and ancestral ground associated with Peridita, later occupied by dragonborn forces and ruled through a tower linked to Emeredge. Located between Dunnensend and Heartmoor, it became a major liberation site: the party entered with help from the Goliath resistance, rescued captives and imprisoned beings, fought Emeredge in the corrupted Noxia chamber, activated Goliath blessings, and reunited Benu, Garadule, and Trixus. Ashkelon is one of the remembered settlements in the wider Goliath erasure and restoration thread; its tower preserves distorted Goliath religious, civic, and prison systems, while later negotiations connect the city to Verdigrim, Tradesmalls, and the recovery of the other erased settlements.

Known Details

  • Galimma identified Emeredge as the dragon associated with Ashkelon; Day 42 dragon-family context identifies Emeredge as one of the Twisted and a son of Lortesh and Peridita.
  • Ashkelon was the Goliath capital.
  • The Goliath ancestral grounds are Ashkelon-related references.
  • Ashkelon is located between Dunnensend and Heartmoor.
  • Three Finger Dune Shwelter claimed to be part of the Ashkelon resistance and helped the party contact resistance members through a black-feather communication device.
  • The party teleported into a throne room on target, where a dragonborn sat idly picking his nails. Nearby working areas included storage-like space, guards, towel carriers, a wash room, new linen, and the hidden baby Badger in a linen basket.
  • The occupied city felt closely watched: every corner seemed to have a dragonborn guard, workers were moved by shifts, and the outskirts held quieter resistance buildings and suspicious neighbours.
  • The Goliath tower in a field was a location in Ashkelon in a vision.
  • Glughut is a location in Ashkelon, possibly an inn, where the resistance bird meeting was arranged for four hours after the party contacted Dune Shwelter.
  • The tower contained skull arches, Goliathified god statues, offering bowls, prison rooms, a library, map rooms, a Noxia chamber, treasure hall, and elemental or dragon prisoners.
  • Its skull-arched room was decorated with Goliath skulls in arches and old coins dotted around; the party heard a low moan from the wall, and the skulls were understood to have been skinned alive.
  • The god-statue room held Goliathified figures of Sierra, Stolchar, Tor, Attabre, and Bridged or an uncertain elven figure, each with offering bowls and inscriptions preserving adapted or half-remembered divine roles.
  • Higher rooms included lavish or recently used bedrooms, red and blue crystals, a rug of a dwarf holding a dragon’s head, an ornate Pentacity-slate map with a red dome, transparent one-way walls, Goliath faces with scratched-out eyes, and coins covering the floor.
  • The prison floors held barrier domes, guards with barbed whips or glowing axes, cracked mirrors, a goat-headed sphinx, a goat man, a copper-haired elven woman with buttercups, and an air-made prisoner controlled by copper pylons.
  • The Noxia chamber was a corrupted battle space with purple crackling energy around a dripping green blob, a medusa and statue figure, a child of the Mother with worm and eyeless dog, bronze, a telescope, and a dragon vision on the ceiling.
  • Day 42 tower rooms and internal sites included the throne room, wash room, resistance building, soft tower, skull-arched room, statue room, prison rooms, Noxia chamber, treasure hall, and observatory room.
  • Ashkelon historical and map material included the Domain of Pengalis coin, Dunemin / Warriors of the Lion dedication, Pentacity slates map, sea gap, Fire, and the great tower.
  • Emeredge died during the day-42 Noxia-chamber battle, and Ashkelon Goliaths gained weapons, shields, and healing when blessings activated.
  • On day-43, Benu appeared there, Trixus was released, Garadule was banished, and the party recovered barrier tools.
  • Day 51’s Ashkelon diplomacy references record Goliaths claiming it as part of the Verdigrim / Tradesmalls negotiations.
  • Thundeya, Tradesmalls, Vahthell, and Wyrmdoom were forgotten or erased from memory, but they are standalone remembered Goliath places and are part of the same liberation arc.
  • Ashkelon, Tradesmalls, the Goliath ancestral grounds, and the tower in a field were part of the Goliaths’ civilisation before being given to dragons as part of the gods’ deals and then erased from memory.
  • Ashkelon is a major step in Dirk’s path to freeing his people: the party aided the Goliath resistance, weakened dragon control, activated Goliath blessings, and later coordinated with Anastasia and Dirk Senior for a pincer movement against Vahthell.
